Birth Doula Services

The magic and pure love experienced at the moment of birth is one of the most profound and transformative experiences a human being could ever move through. The birthing journey should be full of love, peace, excitement, and hope, which is what I will strive to foster with and for you.

As your Birthing Doula, trained by the HypnoBirthing® Institute, I’m here to support you through your pregnancy journey, up to, and after that magical moment of birth. I will offer you emotional, informational, and physical (non-medical) support. I will be your birthing guide, source of comfort, and advocate.

  • Baby has more success breastfeeding.
  • Baby has a reduced chance of requiring a lengthy hospital stay.
  • The mother, baby, and father are able to have more profound bonding.

Are you a replacement for my birthing partner?

I will not be a replacement, but a support for both you, and you partner. I will happily adopt tasks such as preparing food for the birthing participants, ensuring your environment is meeting your specifications, take requested photos and/ or video, and perform any other non-medical tasks that allow your partner to focus more fully on connecting with, and supporting you. Detailed List of Services

Are you a replacement for nurses, or midwife assistants? Will you make decisions for me?

I provide no medical services, but support the care of your medical care providers by nurturing your state of relaxation, assisting you in beneficial birthing positions, and contributing any other non-medical support that is needed.

Although I am not a medical care provider, I do have extensive training in pregnancy, birthing, and postpartum care, which enables me to provide you with thorough informational support. I will not make decisions for you but can act as your sounding board, guide, and advocate.

Do you only assist in home births, or hospital births? Can you provide assistance in the occurrence of a cesarean section?

I can offer you support in any location, and manner, you select to birth in, be it a hospital, birthing center, or at home. I will support you if you opt for a medicated birth, unmedicated birth, or cesarean section. I am trained in all modalities of birth and am here to support you in any decision you make.

What specific services will I receive?

After our initial phone conversation, I provide a complimentary in-home visit, where we will have the opportunity to meet and decide if we are a good fit. This is a sacred journey you are on and I want you to feel comfortable and secure in your decision to welcome me into your circle of birthing companions.

If you decide that you would like to move forward, we will then schedule two in-home prenatal visits where I will assist you in pre-birth activities such as preparing your birth plan, making preparations for a home birth, packing your hospital bag, or any other pre-birth details you would like assistance with.

In addition to this support, I am here to provide you with emotional comfort as well, and will happily discuss with you any fears, concerns, questions, or curiosities you have in regards to any aspect of your pregnancy, birth, postpartum experience, or your general well-being. Because I am also trained as a Hypnotherapist and HypnoBirthing® practitioner I am able to bring a breadth of resources to our relationship. I provide hypnosis support, fear release exercises, light touch massage, breathing techniques, and much more, if requested.

Our first in-home visit, after our initial meeting, will often take place around the end of your second trimester, or the beginning of the third trimester. The second visit will occur around five to six weeks prior to your due time. Throughout the duration of this relationship I will always be available to you, via phone or email, for any questions, concerns, or queries. As we near your birthing time, I will be on-call for you 24 hours a days, to ensure I am able to offer your on-hand support as soon as needed. I will also have a back-up Birth Doula on-call.

After the birth of your baby, I will provide an additional in-home visit about a week postpartum. This time will allow us to check in and explore how you’re feeling emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I will provide, or help facilitate, any needed support you desire in relation to breastfeeding, emotional support, baby care, or any other non-medical needs you may have.

My sole intention is to support you in achieving your best possible pregnancy, birthing, and postpartum experience. I want this journey and transition to be incredible for you.
