I highly recommend the birth prep practice of printing out, painting, or sketching various birth affirmations that speak to you and taping them up in your birth space, or attaching them with clothes pins to twine pinned to the wall. Surrender: it’s one of the most impactful decisions we can make during childbirth, as allowing ourself to release into the surges of the body allow them to be more effective and less painful. When we fight the surges we create a friction that triggers discomfort. So, even if it’s one of the most challenging things you ever do, focus on surrendering as birth starts to flow through you.
